What are the uses of precision seamless steel pipes?

1、 Uses of precision seamless steel pipes

(1) Precision steel pipes are widely used in the manufacture of mechanical parts, such as drill pipes, bolts, nuts, and springs;

(2) Precision steel pipes are also used for various special purposes.

    ① Bearing steel: There are two types of bearing steel: bearing steel and non bearing steel. The former is used for manufacturing machine tool rails, gears, spindles, etc., while the latter is mostly used for manufacturing various rollers, half shafts, etc.

    ② Tool steel: Commonly used are alloy tool steel and hard alloy tool steel, such as bronze steel cone, round head, flat head, etc.

    ③ Spring steel: There are two types of spring steel: ordinary spring steel and linear resistant spring steel. The former is used to make pointers and dividing discs for clocks and watches, while the latter is mostly used as springs.

    ⑤ Welding wire and steel wire: There are two types of welding wire: low alloy welding wire and galvanized welding wire. Low alloy welding wire is used to make main pipes and superheated steam pipes in the heating surface tubes of low-pressure boilers; Alloy welding wires are used to make the main steam pipes of high-pressure boilers and branch pipes for air injection to the main water pipes and gas pipes.


2、 Chemical composition and heat treatment requirements for precision seamless steel pipes

(1) The chemical composition of precision seamless steel pipes should meet the requirements of GB1591-79.

(2) The carbon content in precision seamless steel pipes shall not exceed 0.10%.

(3) For certain precision seamless steel pipes for special purposes, the chemical composition should be determined based on the specific situation, and relevant requirements or test methods should be clearly specified. When specifying in the standard, it should be noted that for precision seamless steel pipes for general purposes, the silicon and manganese content should be controlled between 0.55% and 0.75%.

(4) The dimensional accuracy and surface quality of precision seamless steel pipes should meet the requirements of GB3639-83.
