Hite 1j22 alloy website shares the surface treatment process of precision stainless steel pipes

The most obvious difference between precision stainless steel tubes and ordinary stainless steel tubes is their precision. Stainless steel precision tubes are superior to ordinary stainless steel tubes in terms of size, performance, and even surface. We all have a basic understanding of precision in size and performance, but in terms of surface, we may all have doubts. So how does stainless steel pipe achieve surface precision?

1. Remove oxide scale

During the forming process of stainless steel pipes, after welding or high-temperature treatment, a layer of black hard material usually appears on the surface, which is called oxide skin. Precision stainless steel pipes will be treated with surface oxide scales, usually by mechanical polishing or acid pickling and passivation. Mechanical polishing is a simple and fast method for dealing with surface oxidation issues from physical properties, but it may affect the accuracy of the tube body. Acid pickling and passivation use chemical properties to deal with surface oxidation issues, which does not have a significant impact on the precision of precision stainless steel tubes. It can not only solve the oxidation problem, but also remove other stains and scars on the surface. It is a classic surface oxidation treatment method.

2. Polishing treatment

Stainless steel pipes are generally made of 304 or 316L high-quality raw materials, with a surface brightness of 600 mesh. With the increasing requirements for the surface of stainless steel tubes, surface polishing has been divided into various levels of brightness, such as bright light and mirror light. According to customer requirements, we can use mechanical polishing, chemical polishing, electrochemical polishing, and other methods to achieve the desired brightness level for various surfaces. In addition, in order to have a better visual effect on pipes, there is also a gradual surface polishing process that can achieve a textured surface effect, which we call wire drawing. There are generally the following types of wire drawing: straight wire drawing, round wire drawing, snowflake wire drawing, nylon wire drawing, and so on.

3. Coloring process

The original coloring process for stainless steel tubes was generally spray painting, spraying, and electroplating. However, due to the impact of traditional coloring processes on the environment, and to a certain extent, traditional coloring processes have an impact on the accuracy of stainless steel tubes. Therefore, stainless steel precision tubes generally use nano spraying technology and vacuum electroplating technology. These two coloring processes not only have minimal impact on the environment, but also do not even affect the precision of stainless steel tubes. The surface coloring process of stainless steel tubes can not only give them various colors, but also improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of precision stainless steel tubes.
