Performance characteristics of invar alloy materials
1. Invar alloy has a small expansion coefficient. Invar alloy materials are also called non expanding steel, and their average expansion coefficient is generally 1.5 × 10-6/℃, and relatively stable at room temperature of - 80 ℃ to 230 ℃.
2. The strength and hardness of invar alloy are not high. The carbon content of invar alloy material is less than 0.05%, and the hardness and strength are not high. The tensile strength is about 590Mpa, the yield strength is about 410Mpa, and the Vickers hardness is about 160. However, the wire strength of the invar alloy material required for the spare capacity conductor core is above 1000 Mpa, which can be improved through alloy strengthening, fine grain strengthening, precipitation strengthening, and cold deformation, while still having good plasticity while improving the strength.
3. The thermal conductivity of invar alloy is low, and the thermal conductivity of invar alloy materials is 0.026 to 0.032 cal/cm • sec • ℃, which is only 1/3 to 1/4 of the thermal conductivity of 45 steel.
4. Invar alloy has high plasticity and toughness, and the elongation of Invar alloy material δ= 30-45%, shrinkage δ= 50~70%, impact toughness AK=130-310J/cm2.
